My 40 gallon recife build

Hey Zack! Thanks brother. Those candy canes were my first coral. I believe it may also be my brightest coral!

So three of the BC acros died, and I think Tropicana from sps tank may be on its way out too. But im taking it as a learning experience. Im still lowering p04 and I DO see some color returning to the surviving acros. This is encouraging for me. The odd thing im noticing is the fact that the color returning is not the original colors of the frags when I got them. One frag of pink caddy I had was dark plum purple. In less than a week, it turned highlighter green. Lol acros make little to no sense!
That bites dog biscuits. Fingers crossed that the ones on the edge pull through though! That pink caddy is a fun one. Mine has lightened up substantially too, it is kind of yellowish for me. Bright green is... i want to say high nutrients related? Or not enough light. Or both maybe.

Welcome friend! Any pics you'd like to share of your current set up?

40 AIO. Noopsyche V3, with a clown, cardinalfish, yellow goby (barely visible in bottom right) with his hidden tiger pistol friend. And a brittle star who's a dick to the corals come feeding time, but I love him anyway...

Dont we all have that one fish? Or friend in human comparison. Your tank looks great! The rainbow hammer in front is a gem. Looks like a noop v3 went great over that tank. I came so close to getting it but then was gifted a light for my birthday.

Yeah brother, I hate it, but im very glad I took on the endeavor. I do eventually want to have a nice acro collection on the new tank. I do not give up lol!

I agree beard. It turned green during the nutrient spike. It's looks great though!

Everything's going well out my way! The Lil buggers growing more rolls than a pan of Cinnabons!
Great job papa! We miss you around here but you've been where you were needed!

Soak it up Mike!

Eww, catfish bait. Staaaank!

Fried catfish, mmmmm
Hahaha I have to agree with this 100%

The coral food I've been feeding reminds me of a ball of catfish bait.

Low Trace I believe. Or high iron.

Mine was getting some bright green spots, I googled it and found that pink caddy gets a lot of green, ecspecially at the base, when underlit. I upped my lighting and its settling back into a more red/yellow color now

Mike, and older pink caddy frag I had, which is the only one that survived "the ordeal", went from deep plum purple to neon green. It started getting green spots and then turned into a Bali green slimer lol. It's beautiful and I love it though.

I haven't been as active on my thread lately guys, with all the acros dying, there hasn't been a lot to report. Things are turning around, now I must defeat aiptasia again!

Does anyone have an entry in the fish head potm contest?

I do. Don’t know it’ll make it into the voting finals though

Nope. Didn’t make the cut. Used a recent pic of my Dotty. Have better older ones of my previous fish. Competition pretty intense . Lots of great pics for this one.
Dang, well It was one of the better group of entries I've seen on here since I joined. This one was tough. I don't think 15 people entered the one that my pic was in lol

That reminds me. I finally hit the two year mark with my tank! I was just hoping it would still be running at this point. Now Im getting a second one.
