I just set up my 40 gallon breeder SPS tank this weekend. I set it up with water and established rock from my fathers 200 gallon reef, so it's ready for fish and corals already. Hopefully I'll add some today!

I'm using 1 EcoTech Radion XR30w, about 90lbs of rock and I'll probably use my PM RL100 skimmer for now.

first corals

So, I got a great deal on these corals...so I'm starting with the War Paint and Ultra Bleeding Apple Scoly's and big Acan Echinata.

Hopefully I'll get some fish tomorrow, and some sweet acro's growing soon!

 Now those are some awesome Scoly's! You probably already know this but definitely keep an eye on the corals under the Radions... not sure what they were in before but light bleaching can definitely be an issue.

yeah, i read that about the red led's. I haven't heard of any problems from people I know that have the fixture. Also, I don't keep it on the highest intensity either.

So, I added a nice dendro frag I found and one cardinal. I had a mystery wrasse too, but found him dead the next morning.

Love the dimensions on the 40 breeder. Great start and looking forward to seeing your progress.
