The Aquaforest reef salt has a 3 day shelf live after the salt is mixed. The probiotic has a 24 hour shelf life after mixing. If you go with the new reef salt, plus do you have any have a 3 day self life after mixing but with all the benefits of the probiotic salt :)

The 1+2+3+ is the balling method from Aquaforest. The 1+2+3+ supplements your system from absorption of the system were in theory one would not have to do water changes unless you nutrient level creep up.

We try not to talk about tropical storms down here, you know they are going to happen:). If you have not road one out, tropical storms are pretty nerve racking. Since I have been down here we have road out a few that have come right over the house or realllllllly close. We were fortunate last season and we did not have a direct hit. We were also very fortunate not to have the flooding from last storm.

Happy Monday

I did two water changes with Aquaforest Probiotic salt in the last couple of days. The tank looks better. I am going to do another change to bring down the nitrates and phosphate, and also bump up the carbon dosing. I am also going to bump up the 2+ alk. I am close on the alk.

Time to clean the glass. Notice less thick green hair algae in the center, and a hole lot less cyano in the tank.

That is it for now.

Boy the tank is starting to look good. 3 water changes with Aquaforest Probiotic salt and another today. My salinity is up a bit, I mixed a less concentrated batch to drop the salinity down.

I only clean the glass today to practice shooting pictures, but left everything else alone. I did check and the carbon dosing need to be re primed, this will bring down the nitrate a bit more.

Thank you, it has been a long battle. I have seen the GHA reducing in the last two weeks :)

Not much going on today, I did clean up the glass. Also I did some clean up of power cords with the dosing pumps. I am also doing a AWC over 24 hrs with the Probiotic said again.

Messing around with the white balance again with the camera

Tested yesterday and today. My phosphate are Zero again, according to the tests. I think I believe the tests. Most will say that there is still phosphates in the system.

I a still leaning to try a does a small amount of phosphates just to see if the nitrates will come down and balance out. I wonder if there is a DIY phosphate to safely add?

Today
Screenshot 2023-03-19 at 10.28.47 AM.png

Calcium yesterday was 451
Alkalinity today is 7.5
I think I will dose a bit of Buffer to bring up the Alk and I think I might be safe for a bit with dosing amounts.

I am going to brush the left side of the scape in a few

Took the numbers tonight
Screenshot 2023-03-24 at 10.31.00 PM.png

Starting the AWC in a few minutes. I ran out of the Aquaforest Probiotic salt and I am back to the Aquaforest reef salt until I order the Hybrid salt.
It will be interesting to recheck my number tomorrow and Sunday to see.

The tank is looking pretty good with using the Probiotic salt.

I figure I would snap some picture tomorrow.

What a difference in how salinity make a difference in parameters.
Screenshot 2023-03-25 at 3.34.19 PM.png

The only change I made yesterday was bump up the alk ever so slightly. I have been running a really low alk anyway and the alk was depleting so a little bump is good.

I am changing my filter socks everyday right now. I must have the carbon dosing right also the nitrates are now dropping. I am see less GHA growth on the rock work and pumps.

My phosphates are still zero. I have been thinking, I am going to try doing a small amount of phosphates next week.

I few snaps today. I still need to work on my camera settings
