Has anyone has their pull in their tentacles into their body for a good hour and slowly let them out and it's twice the size it was a hour ago and it's puffing them back up.. Freaked me and my husband out.. It's been in our take for over a week now and has been doing great and eating really well!! It's still not it's normal size but it's definitely not declining in my opinion.. Also I've seen in many YouTube videos people getting frozen shrimp an cutting it and feeding that to them, yalls opinions? I got stuff from a very trusted reef store that I've been feeding him and he loves it but curious on thoughts about frozen shrimp..

What did they give you at the store to feed him? Don't want to junk your tank with excessive nutrients.

Well it's about back to normal and just doing its thing.. I did find a limpet snail right near it on the rock.. Maybe he irritated him and that's why he retracted like that is my only guess..

I have 2 BTAs and they donit from time to time, sometimes when full, sometimes when annoyed by a crab or cleaner shrimp, sometimes just because. The one image in full spectum light looks bleached though so it might not be happy. My first one did that until i switched to a LED lighting and its color came back and its much happier.

+1 ^ looks bleached. These guys need proper lighting. Do not overfeed. Once or twice a week is fine. Monitor alkalinity to make sure no major swings. They like stability.

Thank you all for your replies, I'm looking into why it looks like it's bleached and I have LED lighting as well but I thought that that's what color it is bc it's looked like that from get go... I've checked all of my settings and also have changed water flow a little to see if maybe it's just angry however it found that spot within 5-10 min and hasn't moved and still looking good today, the tank has been going for 5 years now as well..

If it came bleached the color will likely come back over time in good conditions, took mine maybe 2 months to go from a pale pink to a healthy red/purple
