I was told I should add my build here so here it goes!

I bought a 32g biocube drilled with a 20g sump off a fellow saltwater hobbyist a couple months ago.

It’s hard plumbed with a herbie style overflow. The false wall is still intact as it hides the drain. In the sump I have a Eshopps psk-100 skimmer, chaeto and live rock in the refugium with a TaoTronocs 32w light(chaeto grows like crazy), and a Syncra Silent 3.0 for the return. Up top I use a Kessil A160WE Tuna Blue. For me it was the most expensive part, but I love the shimmer and overall look.

About a week into my cycle I cracked the back of the tank trying to make room for my light to mount. CUT THE RIM AWAY BEFORE FILLING WITH WATER. Long story short, I was able to drain most of the water out into buckets and cover the crack with 1/4” plexiglass and a lot of marine grade silicone. It’s held up ever since with no leaks so I am grateful!

Currently it’s been up and running for a month and a half and is stocked with an oscellarius pair, 1 emerald crab, 1 peppermint shrimp, 2 turbo snails, and 2 nassarius snails. For coral I have a frogspawn, red monti, gsp, and a mushroom.

I am open to suggestions, questions, and advice!

Welcome!!!

Where did you get the plumbing idea for the sump?
I followed the previous owners setup and did some searching on the forums as well. I chose to stick with the herbie because I like having the emergency drain and it’s pretty quiet.

Some new additions since last time include a hammer (3 weeks ago), zoanthids (about 2 weeks ago), a yellow watchman goby (2 days ago), and a WBTA (2 days ago).

I wasn’t planning on the anemone, but the lfs said it’d be safe to try if my tank has been running well, so it was hard to say no. I’ll post updates on whether it was a good idea or not, but so far it looks happy and is acclimating well to my lighting.

All my other corals are doing well and growing!

Looking good!! I have a YWG in my 65 and love him :)

The anemone may move around so see where it settles and then stock away/around it. Also, the anemones in my tank split like crazy. So when all goes well and down the road, you may have some to either sell or find a new home for :)

2 1/2 months in and everything seems to be doing great. The GSP gave me a scare but I heard it’s normal for them to disappear and then come back. Looks like the anemone has some great days and then some ok days. Most days it’s really big and peaking out and occasionally it’s receded a little, but it hasn’t moved since it first settled down.
