My custom 287 gallon peninsula build. 2 years in the making

Gonna try and load as many pic as i can. Glass was built by Karen and Bob of Exotic in Miami. I built the steel stand and had a cabinet maker cut and laminate the panels. As you will see in the pic the panels are all removable for ease of maintenance. After having larger tanks for over 20 years I got out of the hobby for about 3 years , I quit cold turkey. It was nice to take a break. I had a Marineland 265, 300, and 150. way too much. lol. After about 2 years with no tanks started to think about how I could design my tank with ease of maintaining it as number 1 thing in mind, and this is what I came up with. Took about 2 and a half years to finish. Still not 100% done but really close.

And so It begins. Had to pour a slab to build a shed to house the 2 100 gallon water barrels. Also where my ATO water comes from.

These the fresh water supplies ato to the display underground and through my wall into the sump. Also can fill the tank from here. All pluming I ran underground around my house and back into the house to the tank

Tank being built 66 long by 30 tall by 34 wide approx. 287 gallons.

External overflow and went with a bean animal drains. also closed loop.

Steel stand and my reef creations sump with Bubble king supermarin 200. bought the skimmer and sump from a local reefer

I have 4 kessils 360w for lighting and 2 sicce adv 9.0 pumps one for over flow and one for closed loop

That's some serious plumbing routing going on there. Florida weather has to be great for outdoor storage of water like that. Rock scape looks fantastic, going to be an excellent set up.

Looking good u didn't mention is this going to be reef tank or fowlr?

Mainly fish but I am going to do some easy corals .

I really hope that was not a load bearing wall that you ran your plumbing through...I am sure you looked into that but just so that others who come to this thread know...by cutting these 2x4's with this big of a hole, across so many 2x4's in the same wall, will compromise a load bearing wall.

Lol yeah my trusses run he same direction as my wall. I did check into that before I did any cutting.
