I just put this skimmer together using a bulb sleeve at Homedepot in the lighting aisle. It come in 4 ft clear tube for about $5-6. I cut it to size and use a clear plastic tube as riser into the hole of the sleeve. Then i fashioned a medicine bottle cap as a collection cup. Add a valve to increase /decrease bubbles if you like.
Sorry for the crappy pic.

What are you using to drive it? Am air pump with an air stone? Very cool diy

Oops i meant to say its a DiY Nano skimmer. I think it adequate for anything less than 25g.

Its driven by an airpump and stone.

I built my own too. Feel free to ask questions. I had to do a lot of tweaking to get it running well, but it was well worth it.

Man! That brings back memories!

I have done so many skimmers over the years. Glad someone still does them.

Update on my Diy Nano skimmer.

It's been a few days and my homemade skimmer is working flawlessly. It puts out lot of foam but no dark skimmate beacuse my tank is only 2wks old and no fish. I think this will work fine for anyone on a budget. THanks for reading!

Built one myself, worked very well, but I don't use a skimmer anymore.

Note the CD case for the collection cup
