Hey guys
I have 4 feather dusters in my tank and I had 2 of them that we're attached together die last night. Their feather type tentacles were broken off and floating at the bottom of the tank. Now the 2 other feather dusters are doing fine, so my question to all the experts out there is why? Why did these 2 die and my other 2 are doing fine. All of my water perimeters are good and I clean my tank every 5-7 days with 10% water change. I'm going to get another one. Do they shed or leave their cocoon type shell. Any info or advice you can give would be appreciated.

So they weren't dead! They didn't come out of their tube in like 2 days. And when I collected up their tubes it seemed like they were out of their tubes in the rock. They didn't move when I picked them up off the rock. How long does it take for them to grow new crowns?

When a featherduster comes out of it's tube it's dead. I presume you're talking about Serpulid (hard tube) fan worms. Or are you talking about Sabellid (soft tube) fan worms?
