My first clam !

Got a bargain on this guy last week, not sure of the color, looks gold/black lol but it's cool also not sure if it's a maxima or what . What do you guys think ?

That's one nice looking clam! The shell will confirm the species. If it has scallops or scutes on the sides - it's a maxima.

This is a great article about other things to look for on your clam to confirm it's ongoing health... and there are good pictures of shells for species ID as well.
