Thank you!! I had one HUGE nightmare situation.... I always go to their tank upon waking up. Seems there was a tiny hole to the filtration I didn't know was there... just big enough to suck a seahorses tail in. One of them was stuck pretty bad. I gently pulled him out but when I dislodged him he was dead... I placed him in the water and he just sunk, no sign of life. I was devastated! On a whim I very gently did chest compressions and he came to!!! He sunk but his eyes moved. It took all day but now he's fine! How crazy is that?!!

Hey liquid. What kinda seahorses are they and where did you get them. My wife is starting a seahorse tank. I'm currently building her a stand for a 20 high. Buying locally would be awesome. Btw congrats.

H. Kelloggi from Reef Life. They bought them from a local breeder. Reef Life is the best in town by far!! Tell them Nate sent ya! A 20t would be great for a pair! It took many months to get my 30g ready. I wanted them to have a self perpetuating food supply.
Thanks so much!! They are truly amazing creatures!! I didn't realize just how much so till I got them home. If you need any info let me know! You'll end up wanting a pair yourself!!

Lol. The wife is already trying to convince me to convert my 56. Here's a pic of the stencil I was making last night for the cabinet doors.
Gotta wood burn it then stain.

That is awesome!!!! what a cool idea!! PLEASE post photos after you're done!!! I watched some special on National Geographic Channel about seahorses. They talked a lot about wild ones and captive born. Apparently the most ideal tank for them is a sphere because of the way they swim... corners are not ideal. What began as just something to do with an up and running tank now has me shopping for a decent sized sphere tank lol

A man made it for his wife but she died before he could finish it. He couldn't bear to look at it anymore :(. So it fell into my hands. Sad story but I love it even more knowing how much love went into making it.

Can't wait to see your pony stand!!!

Thank you. I really hope the wife likes it. She's wanted seahorses for about 8 years now. And we never had the money for it before now.

I've no doubt that she'll love them!! Unless of course she finds babies, puppies, and kittens to be disgusting. They are cheaper from a local dealer. Mine were $40/per!

Sad yes but so beautiful... The workmanship is so delicate you can see that he loved making it. I will cherish it because of its history ;)

You might try calling your LFS ou post a request here. Generally local breeders sell to LFS but don't advertise so you have to find them. Make a post "seeking seahorse breeder in X" most likely it's just a hobbiest who does it for the passion, not income.

at $40/pair I could easily justify a tank for them. My wife loves them, just they are lil more pricy here

Greeting fellow Bamite... or rather Hey ya'll! I purchased mine from our newest LFS, Reef Life Aquariums. If you haven't been yet you should! they are awesome and treat customers very well unlike most LFS which shall remain nameless. They purchased them from a local breeder. They have another pair of Kelloggis in now... at least they did a couple days ago. Oh and it was $40/per not pair lol sorry
