I have a pair of Bangaii Cardnals and a pair of Black Onyx Percula clowns that have been breeding for a couple months now! I'm excited! Guess I'm doing something right :)
Unfortunately I don't have the set-up to raise the fry. Its definatley something that I would like to do in the next few months once I can find the time and money to do so. Right now the clowns eggs are hatching over a 2 day period. The eggs are on the back wall of my 150 DT. This is only the second batch of eggs that they've had. The second batch of eggs were twice as much as the first. Most of the eggs have already hatched, and my female is already to lay a new batch, so I wouldn't be surprised to see another "nest" in about 2-3 days. I've done a lot of research about raising the fry, etc. but it's going to be a while before I can find the funds to get a set-up going....
Same goes with the cardnals. They are in my 150 DT and it would be really difficult to try and catch them. This saddens me greatly because there is such a large demand for captive bred, and I hate to see any wild caught B.C.'s pulled from our reefs because the mortality rate is so low, among other things.
One more thing I forgot to mention:
I have a 40 breeder RR, with a 30 breeder sump, that I would love to set up once I can find the space and money. I was thinking about using it as a frag tank and possibly having some BG's in there as I know many have had great success with something like this.
I am always open to any advice, so please feel free to offer any tips or ideas, etc.
Thanks again!
Heather
