My fish are dying

Just checking. Sometimes a recycle can occur, but it doesn’t sound like it here. From I’ve read on numerous post of mass dying, if you’re not seeing the culprit, it’s likely O2. An you put an air stone in to help out? Do you run a skimmer?
No skimmer. I can put some air stones in to see if that will help

Yes, airstones can’t hurt. I’m curious what is causing the slightly cloudy water if not ammonia (which you have ruled out). Bacterial bloom is possible. Any slime on your filter socks? Water change and air stones can’t hurt

Yeah, i agree but without being an expert…. A bacterial bloom as mentioned will devour O2, so if you aren’t running a skimmer, and no air stone, you may have run into O2 issues. Perhaps a video of the surface agitation. The more info the medics have the better.

Wow, this sux.. I am sorry… these other guys helping you you know more than I do… having said that… dude, slow down with the expensive **** : ) your tank is too new for that… I am talking like… wait a few months before you put in anything else expensive… this is about biology… it is about building up an entire ecosystem : ) take you time.. I get it… you want the cool stuff… Dude… the cool stuff takes a certain amount of maturity. You have to build up certain bacteria… please slow down, or you will just keep killing things : ) I am sorry, but what I said is true.

I have to ask, are you part of the Epicurious site?

Here a video so you can see the surface agitation. I just added the two air stones.

How do I know if it is even a disease
You need to observe symptoms and match them to known disease profiles.

Some common symptoms for common diseases:
  • Scratching up against things in the tank
  • Hiding
  • Breathing hard
  • Hanging out at the bottom or at the surface.
  • Spots on skin, like white dust or salt.
  • Sloughing mucus or body sores.
  • ...
So far all we have on your situation is hiding and suspect tank conditions (ie cloudy water).

Unfortunately, those aren't a strong correlation for any one disease/condition....still could be a number of things.

Cloudy water is a good theory given the evidence, but you said you had both of the returns pointed at the surface. It's not THAT hard to get good aeration...to me it seems like that setup would have been pretty good. Is there a hard lid on this tank? Any other reason that aeration might be compromised? Still no better theories, so this might still be it....but questions remain! :)

Hiding is associated with LOTS of maladies, not oxygen deprivation particularly, so that does almost nothing to help us pin this down – other than confirming "something isn't right".

Stay observant.

There's no evidence to suggest a parasite yet, but if you want to hedge that bet, consider setting up a UV filter on the display (sized for parasites, not algae...one of the smaller AquaUV units should do it) and consider adding a reef-safe anti-parasite compound like what Ruby Reef offers. Neither treatment is invasive or disruptive to any significant degree, so there's not really a downside to doing them....cheap (in the long run) insurance if you decide to go that route. It'll also clear up the remaining cloudy water issue in no time flat.

Honestly, if I were you this is what I would do.

I think you can’t rule out disease here.

I would take the one remaining clownfish back to the LFS, have a 6 week fallow period and let the tank mature a bit more, and try the fish again after that with more knowledge and better QT.

Can you post a close up video of the remaining clownfish?

I read the thread and this is almost 100% some fish disease. The only other thing would be if the remaining flow got better after adding the air stones, then it was an oxygen issue.

Anyone sees anything wrong here??

yes, it is 1.026ppm sorry.

I'm feeding 3 times a day to try to get the nutrients up. I know it is not good to have the PO4 & NO3 at o, so I am feeding more to bring them up (Frozen Mysis and pellets).

The tanks is 5 weeks old (34 weeks after cycle complete.
The fish were normal. Everything started to chenge after the cludiness I guess
Don't add nutrient to the tank. I just feed whatever the fish eat, no left-over food. Excessive food in a new tank with no/minimal scavenger will result in ammonia and bacterial blood. Excessive food kills, especially in a new tank.
Do water change to get nutrient down, don't over feed. MUCH BETTER to underfeed. This is from a reefer who is known to have fat fish.
Whatever you do, don't add any more fish until the tank is stable. If you have no choice, then you are going to have to do a lot of water changes, and likely will have disease breakout in your tank, and a lot more dead fish.
