Snails and other algae grazers?my phosphates are 0.06
my nitrates are 60
how is it going away
i have had to dose phosphate to keep it up rock never leeched anyI don’t have much info to go by; but with only that type of info, my guess would be that your rocks have stopped leaching phosphates, or has reached a low equilibrium, and now the algae isn’t being “fed”. Only a guess…
i have 3* torches 1* scoly 1* snail that is all that is in the tankSnails and other algae grazers?
Trace element depletion is a possible reason.my phosphates are 0.06

do a 20% water change like every 3 daysTrace element depletion is a possible reason.
Do you dose trace elements? How much and how often do you change water?
i need to my nitrates are rising all the time i don't know why i bought live rock and think something died in the rock so i do a water change get them down to like 40 2 days later they jump back up to 60 testing with hanna i have 3 packs of regents and every single 1 of them read the samethat is a lot of water changes
rather just do a water change rather than dosing chemicals that have a chance to tick off a £1000 torch a £700 torch and a £350 torchmmm ok. have you tried a nitrate remover?
Water changes are effective in lowering Nitrates, but expensive, time consuming and short acting. Your tank would be ideal candidate for carbon dosing ( vinegar, vodka, proprietary solution or biopellets)i need to my nitrates are rising all the time i don't know why i bought live rock and think something died in the rock so i do a water change get them down to like 40 2 days later they jump back up to 60 testing with hanna i have 3 packs of regents and every single 1 of them read the same
would dosing vineegar and vodka not pee my torches off they we're not cheap £2050 for 3 torchesWater changes are effective in lowering Nitrates, but expensive, time consuming and short acting. Your tank would be ideal candidate for carbon dosing ( vinegar, vodka, proprietary solution or GFO)
How is your nitrate so high with all the water changes?do a 20% water change like every 3 days
Just to be clear, GFO is not for nitrates.Water changes are effective in lowering Nitrates, but expensive, time consuming and short acting. Your tank would be ideal candidate for carbon dosing ( vinegar, vodka, proprietary solution or GFO)
