Yes!

Had to remove the lower magnetic latch and nudge the UV Sterilizer a bit to slide it in but it does fit!

The door looks fine w/out the lower latch too so that’s a win (no, I’ve not removed the plastic from the stand yet).

So got water in mine, I’m running the pump at 30% and I have the overflow set to just at the emergency overflow as recommended. Still getting a gurgle from the sump area. Any suggestions to get it to settle? I’ve gotta order my rollers still, figure I’ll use the balls they sent for the first month or so

This is the part I’ve dreaded and it’s proving me right.

Plan was to assemble the rock I’ve been seeding, well, the seachem coral-Crete is not sticking to the one side.

I’ve got half the scape “placed” and I crammed some more epoxy into that side to see if I can get it to set.

Oh well, I’m sure it’ll work out, I just hate this part lol

Thinking the IceCap K-1 130 protein skimmer.

Good bad?

I have no experience with them. I am a big fan of reef octopus, as I have had them in every size tank I have owned. My ultimate favorite was SWC, which is no longer in business, but I have tried many different skimmers since the one I had back in the early 2000s. I always seem to come back to Reef Octopus for its reliability and ease of tuning. I have had some very expensive skimmers that needed nearly daily tuning, which does not work for me and my husbandry schedule.

I personally like this version better, but that is just my opinion. When doing rockscaping, I always try to think about what corals I plan to keep and what kind of space they might need to grow, which is what usually determines the build. I also like placing my rockwork slightly off center, much like you would take pictures, which seems more appealing to the eye than in the middle. For depth, just have one rockscape slightly forward of the other, which will give the illusion of depth as the rockwork fills in with corals and life.

Skimmer on Monday and I’ll reveal the mess that’s under the tank in the sump area…

And!!! I’M FINALLY AT ZERO NITRITE! Just dosed 1ppm to see how I look tomorrow, then water change and bring on the fishes!
