Hello! Steve here.

Im finally taking a minute to introduce myself. I visit this forum often, have found lots of good information. I visit the Neptune Systems forum as well as I have a bit of their equipment. I have learned a bunch of things I thought I knew from BRS too!

I've had aquariums most of my life, currently I have three: 100 gallon mixed reef, 40 gallon LPS, and a 70 gallon planted fresh water. I’m retired from the environmental cleanup industry where I built and maintained systems to treat contaminated water. So the hardware, mechanical and testing part of the hobby are no too difficult for me.

I’m approaching one year in on my mixed reef. It’s my first real attempt at SPS corals. It has gone mostly well, but I’m starting to lose some coral. I need to figure out what’s going on.

I will try to post more information about my systems, my success and failures. In the meantime, thanks for having me as a member.

Hi Steve and Welcome! Glad you joined.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID). Entirely up to you, but you might consider thread for each tank (but they will only give you 1 badge)

This might help you find people local to you:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:
