@rmorris_14 @Lost in the Sauce @Mschmidt @Nate Chalk @Miami Reef @N1tew0lf1212 I need some help and opinions. Because I no longer have an Angelfish atm, and because I’m looking into a EXT IM 170/200 as an upgrade, hopefully sooner than later, I want a new angelfish. Now I have my heart set on two specific ones, and have had good experience with one genus, and none with the other. This isn’t upsetting my stock list as there is already a slot for an Angel to fill. Which one would you go for?

I will refer to others on this as I have zero experience with angel fish as of right now. Basing it off colors (which is usually how I do half my March madness bracket picks) I would lean towards the Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis

number 2 for sure. I like the orange yellow coloration. That being said I have not done any research on either. I have a flame angel and he may or may not be a model citizen when he gets bigger. for now hes only 1-3 inches big :D

Chaetodontoplus:
Have had experience with
Get around 7-10 inches
Big food muncher
Captive Bred( less likely to munch on coral?)
Very active and inquisitive
Uses a lot of the tank‘s swim space like tangs)

Pygoplites:
N/A experience
Get around 8-12 inches
Medium food muncher
Not Captive bred(at least this one in specific/reputation safest reef angel)
Shy and inquisitive
Doesn‘t use as much swimming space as other angels or tangs.

third the no experience train.
c-name would be cool watching it zoom around the tank. I don't have horizontal stripes in the tank either. Not as big a fan of the colors.
p-name better colors (imo), could name it "the orange lurker", eats less so cheaper to feed, but at this point whose counting food cost?

Although defn. not ReefSafe, I dig my Emperor Angelfish.

Timmy
he eats out of my hand... and rubs against it.
I should make an updated one; this is from before the genocide.

dwarf and full-size Angels don't bother one another. I also have a yellow and a bi-color in the tank. They go after one another for sleeping spots, otherwise they're fine. I introduced them at the same time.

Its awesome. Timmy Grunts at me when I come to e the tank in the mornings. and when he is hungry.
begs at the glass when he is hungry too.
also when I add chemicals / phyto / coral food

I think either one or both would be a great addition. Although I don’t have experience yet with the regal but planning to add one soon. Loved my Poma Lab blue line angels. Was sad when my interuptus killed my pair.
