Rob,
I do believe 2 will work perfectly fine for your display dimentions.
I run 2 over my 5ft Reefer 450 tank.
As for height, I'd start around 12" and see how your spread and shading from center brace looks.

How are you mounting them?
Do you have a picture of your tank, and rock work?

Thanks Marco. Tank is relatively new. It was started back at the end of March. Still toying with the aquascape a little. I'll snap a pic when lights come on later and post. What you see will be close to the end result.
Thanks
Rob

Here is my 320 with 4 LX7s, the tank is 8 feet long and 2 feet wide, there are also two massive braces each 15 inches wide which cause significant shadowing. My plan is to maybe add 2 more LX7S over each or 2(or possible even4) Light Bars as they are a more economical solution.

Marcel - could you post a picture showing both the braces and fixtures ?
Would love to see how you have them spread with the braces..

I realized that if I mounted them longitudinally the braces would block a lot of light and other areas would suffer, this is why I mounted as is and decided to go with a more "concentrated " source for lighting the braces themselves.

Nice Tank and stand! Custom tank I'd assume? Those braces are massive. At least they're glass.
Here is a shot of my rock work. It's a standard 120. If I needed to go with a 3rd light I could cut out the center brace and install an acrylic brace and hang it in the middle. Not hard to do as I've done it before on my old 75. Would just need to keep it clean. Hopefully 2 will do the job.

The way your rock work is setup, I'd probably mount them perpendicular, left to right .. displays are towards the side(s). :)

It's been a while since I installed the Mitras LX7's over my tank and I absolutely love them. My corals are doing better than ever and have colors like I've never seen before!

We did an LA Fish Guys video series on my Mitras LX7 install. It covers setting them up for my light rack as well as setting up the Wifi network connection basic programming. It's 3 parts. This was shot early this year and just now released to YouTube.
Part 1 discuses the Mitras LX7's and prepping them for my light rack.

Part 2 covers installing them on my light rack.

Part 3 covers basic setup and programming.

To Vinny or Marco,
I received my two units on Friday. I have a slight issue with them though. I sent Vinny an email explaining the situation. Looking to hear back from you.
Thanks.

Thanks for the great customer support. They are up and running and at this point I'm quite impressed. I have them on High output mode running d2mini's 14k light project with some minor tweaks of time and color and love them. I've done diy led, Kessils and now these. The Mitras are by far my favorite. Before this my gold standard was still a 250 watt Radium halide. In 14k mode it closely resembles them with the additional benefit of a nice dawn and dusk sequence with much less heat. My only question now will be if 2 will be sufficient over my 120?
Thanks again Marco and Vinny.

I’d say you’ll see some significant shading towards the outer 8” of either side. If you have a center rock formation that sits 12” off of either side, and not much but lower light corals, that could work quite nicely, but personally I think you’d be better served with 2x of them on a 4’ Tank. I run 2x on a 5ft tank.. and it works quite nicely.

I’m getting ready to order two of these 7206s. Can I run them with a Profilux Light controller or do I have to have a Profilux 4? I would like to have a Profilux mini but I cannot find anywhere to buy one.

Hi Wendy -
The LX 7206 is full featured and can run independently, and as master/slave.

While you can certainly make both slaves and control from a ProfiLux 3 or 4 with the PWC add-in Card, you may also use one of the two LX7’s as master and the other as slave.
Of course having a ProfiLux provides you with a much larger monitor and control spectrum over the entire aquarium(s).

The ProfiLux mini cannot control the LX7’s as they are built for wireless control. The Mini can control, however it can control light bars.
We do sell the mini in the US @ www.ghlusa.com/shop

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have further questions.
