the tank has been up and running since July of last year. I used a freshwater test kit for ammonia since the chemicals are the same. I have a Tropic Marin Reef test kit that I tested for everything else. What test kits have you used for them? How long have you had the current tank up and running? How many fish do you have?
If this tank, or any other tank, has been up and running for 10 months then there is no way in hell you get any readings of ammonia or nitrite. As mentioned above, go to your LFS and get your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate tested. Also, check the expiry date on your tropic marin kit. If your ammonia test kit is made for freshwater then it will not give you an inaccurate reading.
