It all depends on how you want it get its water supply from. From the overflow drain or from the return pump

It has a 1" drain so max it will handle is about 660gph. The return seems like the best bet since the pump I have is rated at 819 without head pressure calculated. Man I know nothing about plumbing except how to pull a hairball out of a sink or tub drain. Lol

+1 That's how mine is ran.

I believe that's my best bet. I planned on using flex pipe but with the algae scrubber I will need to use pvc, correct? My drain and return both have slip fittings with ribs.

Only pvc i use is the actual tube the screens set in. On the ends are barbed adapters and braided tubing. Drains and return lines are all tubing up to the bulkheads. If i think about it ill try get some pics of it all when i clean the screens tomorow

I used all rigid PVC, for the drains and the returns.

Here's a picture of the way my scrubber is ran with the PVC:

The scrubber is "Y'd" off of the return with a ball valve to control the flow and a union to make the screen and tube removable for easy weekly cleanings. My scrubber is only lit from one side due to space constraints.

What lighting period does everyone use for the scrubber. I'm moving soon and I'm considering adding one when I set everything back up.

So I take it that this tank is already in the new apartment???

It sure is Chris, it has sand and water in it already.

I'm hoping so... Means whoever helps him move this weekend can see it!

It will be nice to see some livestock in it. It'll be nice to get some firsthand advice on skaping it.
