It all depends on how you want it get its water supply from. From the overflow drain or from the return pump
+1 That's how mine is ran.
I believe that's my best bet. I planned on using flex pipe but with the algae scrubber I will need to use pvc, correct? My drain and return both have slip fittings with ribs.
I used all rigid PVC, for the drains and the returns.
Here's a picture of the way my scrubber is ran with the PVC:
The scrubber is "Y'd" off of the return with a ball valve to control the flow and a union to make the screen and tube removable for easy weekly cleanings. My scrubber is only lit from one side due to space constraints.

What lighting period does everyone use for the scrubber. I'm moving soon and I'm considering adding one when I set everything back up.
