My Tank Temp gets up to 83.5 with UV on - BAD?

Wondering if i should keep the UV on...my tank temp gets up to 83.5 at the peak and 81 and the low at night.
Is this temp safe for a mixed reef ?

No… I have this issue too with my AC being out and other factors. I put an air stone in there for oxygen cause thats what depletes in the heat. Is the UV causing the heat spike you think?

It’s a quick rise that kills, but I would not keep anything above 80

It’s on the verge if your corals we’re not acclimated to that temp slowly. Why not just run UV at night until cooler weather?

Yes, when the UV is off it drops down to 80.
I cant fit a chiller either..

I’d unplug that UV and see where temp goes.
Why do you need UV?
It sterilizes both good and bad algae, being counterproductive IMM.

Thats what I'm starting to do, but the temp only get down to 81-80

I don’t think any of my tanks get cooler than 80 during the summer except for the one with a chiller. That’s why I just started setting my heaters at 78. Usually tank hangs around 81 24/7 with UV staggered from main lights.

I cant get mine below 80 right now with the AC out either. My uv on and off doesnt make a difference, but if yours does maybe worth it and adding an air stone for the oxygen. Ive had to move most corals to my cooler tank because of this issue
