Ok, if both are just trace, then corals will starve.
N and P should be available to corals in balance, the min nitrate I would run is 2-5ppm, no higher than 10ppm
P should run in the 0.5-.1 ppm range and not more than .3
Okay so should I feed my tank more? All my fish are still babies no bigger than 4 inches my diamond is 5-6 inches I feed once a day should I feed more than?

Well to start with, your salinity is a bit high. Calcium is low. Phosphate is high. Nitrate is low. You want nitrates up, I keep mine at 15ppm and phosphates at 0.1. Calcium at 440. What is your magnesium? And flame angels are known to nip at coral. This might entirely be your problem

I keep close eyes on the flame and I’ve had him for 1 month and never seen him nip coral. My phos is a trace so it’s low and I dosed calcium like I said so my calcium is now at 460 and I’m going to start feeding my tank more. I have a 180 with only 8 fish in it and 20 different types of coral I only feed once a day but I’m trying to get my peppermint shrimp to eat some aptasia that I have and my lights are one from 930am - 500pm

What’s the best way to increase nitrate?

Yes but “trace” can mean ALOT. You need a test kit and a real world number ASAP

Yup, feed a bit more daily to see if we can get those numbers up and into the described target zones.
But real slow, overall we want to be in those ranges consistently, too low the die, too high they die.
You need to be there anyways for corals in general, so at least we can rule that out.
You have big water and low load so your low nutrients is no big surprise.

You can also consider just dosing up your N&P.

Try giving it more flow. Sometimes a torch will open up if you increase the flow. Also, watch your tank more often and see if any of your fish are nipping at it.

What’s also important is your tank is only 5 months old. I was only able to add softies up to a year.
I started adding stoneys after all 8 water parameters remained both in the ranges and for 3 continuous months.
At this point everything I drop in opens within an hour, remains open, a colors up nicely.

When adding corals, it’s best to add softies first, followed by LPS, then easy SPS (Bird nest as example) and lastly SPS.

Eh. 5 months is fine. My euphyllias went in my tank about a month after cycle and have been fine. By 6 months it should be safe to start sps.

Given my tank has a very impressive filtration system and rocks and sand came from a tank that was running for over 8 years.

Nah phosphate should be .03 nitrate 5-10 to high phosphate hinders coral growth. To high nitrate causes algae bloom. U wanna keep a close eye on the numbers intill things stable out. I went through the same phase with my tank things get better with time

Actually, those phosphates are too low for a mixed reef system. Established tanks should not have algae growth as they’re covered in coralline. My tank stays at .1 phosphate and 20ppm of nitrate. Lfs stays at .15 phosphate 30ppm of nitrate. Wwc stays at .15 phosphate 30-40ppm of nitrate. A .003 decimal place is way too clean. Corals need nutrients. However, when you get 30 ppm of nitrates with .25 ppm of phosphate you will start running Into problems. And I think all three of these tanks are doing just fine ;)

The op stated her tank is only 5 months. Were did you get the Informasion on WWC peramiters? Because .03 phosphate a d 5 nitrate is not starving it's clean but not starving. I run .03 phosphate with .25 nitrate. My corals are not
Starving in my ultra low system. Every tank can run Diffrent dont get me wrong. But having a low levels of phosphate and nitrate has shown to improve coral colorations and growth.

I got the parameters from the store owner. They’re not too far from me ;)

Cool. Well I dont that that's helping the op us wiping out our numbers. OP hows the hammer doing?
