It was suggested by our Drs. to get our Well Water tested, after some mysterious, minor health problems. Nitrates and Nitrites were zero, along with other VOC’s. So we are looking at minerals, the one I couldn’t get a safe level from internet is Manganese which is 0.0217 mg/L. Also ones I figured out, Hardness is 0.6 gpg Iron 0.13 mg/L Magnesium is 0.72 mg/L Just wondering how bad or good we are. I plan on a Whole House Filtration system. Also this doesn’t affect my Aquariums, RO/DI is putting out Zero TDS.

I am not a water quality analist. But, to me .6 gpg is pretty soft, like 10ppm. Our water is 50-75ppm usually. Those levels of manganese, iron, and magnesium dont seem out of line either. Who did you have test it, and did they give a summary analysis? Usually they state safe/ mandated cullinary ranges on the report too for a reference.

I am jealous for your well water. The TDS of Middle Trinity groundwater is 950ppm. This section of Texas was an ancient inland sea full of diatoms and now water saturated with silicates. In working with my present water source, my reef husbandry evolved to ornamental seaweeds & sponges, then onto cryptic sponges.

A local Testing Company for the Minerals. County for Pathogens, VOC, and Benzenes. Several years ago a Drycleaner 2.5 Miles was dumping cleaning fluid out the back door. Also Several Gas Stations, had leaking underground tanks. Our well is 365 feet deep. We have clear water, but it stains fixtures. I use Oxalic Acid to remove the stains.

I would take the test report to whoever suggested you have it performed as they are obviously on the lookout for some issue.

I guess that they are more concerned with human health rather than the health of your aquarium, which as you point out is being filtered with a RODI system.
