I have this "thing" growing on my live rock. It is only growing in one spot. I have removed it once and it grew back within a week. My local fish store was unable to identify what it is.

Just curious if it is something I need to treat or leave alone. I included a couple pictures of it.

There are soooo many sponges it’s pretty much impossible for a hobbyist to ID.

The top pic may not be. It’s a bit too fuzzy.

Looks pretty similar to the yellow sponge I am having some trouble with. Sponges are prob fine until they compete for space with corals. So if it’s a fast grower it could be a problem.

I know that it is extremely hard to identify. Just hoping.

The top pic was today, the bottom pic was last week when I removed it.
