Very possible then, they get to 21 cm which is pretty big, about 8 inches. Hope you have a big tank!

Seconding the ID of Doctorfish or Surgeon Tang, from the Caribbean. The hash-marks on his sides are pretty good identifiers. Not the most colorful tang out there, but not the most hideous, either.

Acanthurus chirurgus . Just FYI, Fishbase lists a common size (not even max) of over 13 inches.

Acanthrus Chirurgus or "Doctor fish". They get a bit larger than a foot and change color not just as they mature, but based on mood and environment.

This is a doctorfish tang. I have one and he is getting so big. All my fishes was same size, he had doubled them.

Doctorfish, not uncommon for them to hit over 1’ long (I think sometimes they hit over 1.5’ long).
