1. I paid the most for my Whitetail Bristletooth Tang. Thought he’d be my centerpiece fish.

2. I‘ve only had the Tang for a little over a year, and they keep going up in price.

3. The fish I couldn’t do without? Tough choice between my Solar Wrasse - love his colors and personality - or my One Spot Foxface - love the pop of yellow in the tank. The Foxface managed to turn the bully Tang into his best friend. They are virtually inseparable.

1. Gem tang. And I’ve actually bought this one twice due to a freak mishap while I was out of town that killed the first…
2. Potters angel. Bought for like $150 from LADD several years back before the Hawaii ban. Now the only way they are available is $1k captive bred. The other one that gets me is the declivis butterfly… had one of these in college 2010ish and I’m sure I didn’t pay more than $250, could have been much less. Now they go for $1500+ if they’re even available.
3. This one is tough but by definition it’s got to be the majestic angelfish. It was one of the first fish I bought getting into the hobby around 2005 and I’ve more or less had one in every tank I’ve had since then (three separate individuals, sold the first and lost the second in a crash). Someone else mentioned Anthias and that’s got to be a close second. I’d never have a tank without a group of Anthias.

1: Cousteau, my male black snowflake A. ocellaris clownfish, who cost me $67 CAD. I wanted something special for my original clownfish Moby's mate and boy howdy does Cousteau deliver! Such a pretty little friend.❤️
2: Cousteau, although I would never sell him!
3: Cousteau and Moby.❤️ They're just so friendly and personable. The little dudes always greet me when I walk up to the tank and they're always swimming around my hand whenever I do tank maintenance.

Cousteau won't stay my most expensive fish for long as there's a $50 giftcard burning a hole in my pocket which I plan on using to acquire a $80 royal gramma. Since I was forced to get a new tank by a freak disaster which destroyed my Fluval Evo 13.5, my clownfish pair and yellow watchman goby Clyde now love in a cushier 30 gallon so now I get to dream about having greater aquatic diversity including more species of coral and more fish!

And yes, one of those fish is going to be a six line wrasse! I also plan on adopting a green clown goby because I think that they're beautiful.

The new tank - I salvaged all of my original live rock and sand so the only new part of it is the sand - I even managed to save my lone coral and rose bubbletip nem! (New lid to come, using both of my old ones for now until I have the resources to build it.)

1. Majestic angel
2. Majestic angel
3. I think it might have to be Harold the flame hawk. Such a character/cool fish - utility wise I’d go a CBB like many others.
