Nano 20g long

Whats up everyone. Starting a cheap 20g long that i got from petco. Ive always wanted to do a simple setup. Plan on converting my ac70 into a surface skimmer/media basket by intank. Nothing complex, as simple as possible. Also will probably add a hang on the back refugium of some sort down the road once the tank cycles. Heres what i got so far....

I do have one from my previous tank that i will be running in conjunction with the surface skimmer.

Leak test so far so good. I ran some extra silicone along the bottom just in case. Some of the seams seemed a little thin, just added peace of mind. I did paint the bottom white if your wondering lol im going to run bare bottom.

Well shes ready for water. As i wait for other items to be shipped I decided to just get it going so it can start the cycle.

Not a whole lot going on yet just waiting for it to cycle. Added a few pieces of live rock to help with the cycle. Threw in a deli shrimp that made my ammonia levels very high so im expecting the cycle to take longer with how high my ammonia level was.

Yeah looks great. My favorite tank I've ever had, and what I thought was the prettiest, was a 20 long. Perfect dimensions to have a perfect little slice of the ocean.

Thank you. Not really sure yet on stocking, probably just going for easy to keep stuff, mixed reef. I really enjoy corals that sway in the flow like torches and hammers.

Thank you. Im really digging the footprint. I was going to do a 10 gallon, but im really glad I decided to go with the 20.

Nothing new here ammonia is still higher than willie nelson. Clock ticking, this could take forever.

Got my oceanbox surface skimmer in today and installed. Seems to be doing its job, pretty cool addition. Also has room for my smart ato sensor to be placed inside the box. Excuse my temporary clip on hose for my ato. I also got the intank media basket for the ac70. I will place that in once the tank cycles. So far so good, just still holding a high amount of ammonia and no signs of it going down. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow.

Happy Sunday over here. Tank is now moving along and close to being cycled. Just waiting for the red now and ill do my first wc. Never been so excited for a wc lol

Thanks!! Those are the caribsea life rocks. Im not running a skimmer. Not sure if i ever will.

Just used this stuff from petsmart. It worked good.
