So here goes. While we wait for our 300G therapy tank(working with my special needs son eye dr to design a low vision accessible tank) to be delivered I setup an old tank for some practice and enjoyment. It’s been about 15 years since my last reef tank.
Equipment will be minimal on this tank.

Filtration - hob filter with floss, possibly converting to a hob fuge down the road.
Lighting- Lominie reef s-20.
Heater-for now an old heater from fw tank

Pictures are of the currently planned scape that my 5yo and I built out.

Stocking will be a pair of clowns for fish. Corals will just be some basic things for hands on experience.

So after getting some seeded rock the tank is all good. We added our pair of clowns from the lfs and they have been doing great! Also the big boy 300g was delivered yesterday!

Finally something worth updating. I added pods from algae barn and started dosing photo.

Also some beautiful first corals came in from Legendary corals!

Full tank shot! Corals from legendary and aquasd. Frags still on plugs will be grown out a bit and then moves to the low vision build once it is ready!

I am loving this Raven Blue Blasto, it’s definitely becoming my favorites.
Other pic shows a small patch of cyano, I adjusted power head direction a little and the patch has shrunk by half.
