I have a bicolor blenny that's does the same, fortunately I've conditioned myself to look at the pump before turning it on now, although he has had a few close calls where he woulda been a snack for the other fish.

I do too. This was just a freak accident. All the food was gone and I was turning the pumps back on by Apex. I saw him swim in just as I clicked on and immediately clicked it back off but the lag was too great. It came on for just a second or two but that was long enough.

I have my circulation and wavemaker plugged in to just a power strip, and turn it off when I feed the fish, as soon as he notices they go off he goes all the way in and just grazes away then when he cleans up the good stuff he swims around eats the fish food and goes back into the pump to nip at what's left. For the last year he does it every time, if my wife is around and notices the fish have finished everything she yells out " where's the blenny " when she sees me about to turn on the power to the pump. I figure it's the only algae he can get too since my tangs and rabbit fish eat anything that even starts to grow on the rocks and they are to big to get into the pumps, pure comedy unless I forget one day and he becomes fish food!
