nassarius or welk?

so i found out my nassarius doesn't look like other people's nassarius and want to make sure if its not well. got it from LFS

I can’t see the picture. If you post the picture so I can see it on my phone I may be able to help. I have nassarius and have had a welk ( it is snail heaven after killing two of my bumble bee snails, caught it red handed with the second)

Its a whelk. VERY similar to nassarius, whelk has no trailing tail and also its' snout is tatooed/printed whereas nassarious is solid colored

That is a welk, typically nocturnal. I would remove it before it feast on your snails. Here is a picture of the welk shell I removed.

To confirm - see snout color - Whelk is on the right. Whelk has no trailing tail

Not predatory whelks. The dark ones are Nassarius margaritifer; I have them in my tanks and they have been model citizens and great CUC.

I agree with @WheatToast ; your video confirms that you have a nassarius not a whelk.

Have you seen this snail bury in the sand? If so, it's not a predatory whelk :)

yeah, there always in the sand unless I feed them or they get active during nighttime

I know this. They just wanted to know difference. I’m keeping it simple

Look again at snout. It’s the safe version whelk

I’m with WheatToast on this one. That’s a nassarious. I have a couple just like it in my own tank.
