Talking kitchen sink here guess I should have specified, which had plenty of wasted space (corner cabinet)
Probably just go buy some 1x and work it out lol

1x frame would work great, square frame with 1x backing would sit nicely on the bottom of the cabinet

Tank got wet yesterday, got 83LBS of Indo live rock. Checked parameters for the heck of it
PH 8.0
SG 1.024 (swing arm)
Ammonia .50ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 0ppm
Saturday or Sunday I will check them again if sg is still at 1.024 ill bring it up slowly

Is there a refractometer that is good that won't break the bank?

Hoping the LR is enough to start the cycle?may toss in a piece or 2 of shrimp anyway.

Not sure if I want to get the media reactor, or throw a bag of carbon in one of the skimmer sections ,or just run with out , may throw some bio media in somewhere.
Only time I ever ran carbon in FW if I had to treat for something.

And for those that like pics 20180614_113237.jpg

Looking good! I like to use Carbon on all of my tanks historically, so I would say go with that. Especially on a tank with new live rock which will have some die off releasing random stuff. A media reactor seems like something to add later as the tank gets stocked or if there is an issue, but I have honestly never used one.

Think I'm going to do a water change tomorrow.
Parameters

Temp 78F
PH 8.2
Ammonia .25ppm
Nitrite .50ppm
Nitrate 40ppm
SG 1.023 ( Been aiming for 1.024)
PSU 30
PPT 30

We were looking at fish last night, tank seems to be cycling faster then I thought it would , I just haven't looked at compatibility, probably do that tonight.

The wife says an eel is a must , so will be interesting to see what on our list is compatible.

We went threw the fish list and cut it by more then 1/2, wife says an eel is a must from what I have read it seems a zebra is less likely to bother fish then a snowflake? I am leaning towards a snowflake?
Here is the fish that the wife picked out, still needs to be narrowed down.

Which fish to cut from list ?

Zebra Eel or snowflake one or the other is a must, but which one?

Flame Angelfish
(Centropyge loricula)

Yellow Eye Kole Tang
Ctenochaetus strigosus

Pajama Cardinalfish
Sphaeramia nematoptera

Tahitian Butterflyfish
(Chaetodon trichrous)

One Spot Foxface
(Siganus unimaculatus)

Purple Dottyback
(Pseudochromis porphyreus)

Royal Gramma Basslet
(Gramma loreto)

Firefish
Nemateleotris magnifica

Purple Firefish
Nemateleotris decora

Blue Spot Jawfish
Opistognathus rosenblatti

Green Clown Goby
Gobiodon histrio

Red Striped Goby
Trimma cana

Falco Hawkfish
(Cirrhitichthys falco)

Axilspot Hogfish
(Bodianus axillaris )

Blue Star Leopard Wrasse
(Macropharyngodon bipartitus)

Exquisite Fairy Wrasse
Cirrhilabrus exquisitus

McCosker's Flasher Wrasse
Paracheilinus mccoskeri

Grey Head Wrasse
Halichoeres leucurus

Velvet Fairy Wrasse

Hmmm. Almost looks like a vermetid snail but I am not a vermetid expert. If so they can irritate corals. I would start a new thread for positive ID.

Congratulations!

Is there a refractometer that is good that won't break the bank?

The BRS one gets very good reviews (I own it) and is reasonably priced. It's superior to the Red Sea model which costs more. Buy some AquaCraft calibration solution at the same time and remember to shake the bottle prior to use.

Not sure if I want to get the media reactor, or throw a bag of carbon in one of the skimmer sections ,or just run with out , may throw some bio media in somewhere.

You don't need to do anything, but I make every effort to minimize uglies. Run no lights or blue only and run something (Phosguard or GFO) to minimize silicates in the beginning. Put some food in there. If it was true live rock you probably have no cycle, but it could be short and you can start planning your fish list.

EDIT: There is that master "need help with fish" R2R thread, I would cross-post over there. Lots of experts. Getting wrasses to get along may require some acclimation boxes + patience. Butterfly and Angels you're aware of their iffy-ness

EDIT2: You'll want to think about a fighting or tiger conch maybe to clean that sandbed along with a few snails. No rush. You have one sand shifting goby on your list and that seems wise.

@HolisticBear thank you
I ended up picking up the Milwaukee
Have only been turning lights on when looking into tank. Live rock is true liverock from lfs, just waiting for ammonia and nitrite to hit 0. Will look in to gfo and phosguard. And on the butterfly and angel I am aware of the iffy-ness.

That list is the start of fish lost planning , don't necessarily need/want all those wrasses those are just the ones we like

Response to bears edit2
Thanks not sure on CUC yet once We get fish list nailed down, I do like the fighting conches tho

Started to make this the other day , not sure if I want to paint black, polyurethane it or let it alone. Waiting on prob holder and some cable management stuff to come in.

My smart micro ato and ato reservoirs came in yesterday. Working on figure out if I really want to put a drain out the or down the in living room, would like to eventually automate water changes. Anyone suggest a acrylic safe heater?
