Im 100% buying a new tank this month just not 100% sure what yet. My budget for the tank alone (no stand), is $1,200 (excluding shipping).

So far my options are IM EXT 75 (not totally in love with the cube like dimensions), FIJI Cube 81 Gallon Ext or 76 Gallon Shallow Ext, or the SCA 90 Gallon.

Does anyone have any input on these brands or any other brands I may not know of?

Thanks!
Sca120 $1200 boom!

Sca120 $1200 boom!
You know, I have a sca 150, it was a great deal and I’m happy with what I’ve got…but I’ve notice the glass quality is not the same as friends nicer tanks, I mean my evo has clearer glass lol
That being said my sc lives in the garage in my gaming area, it’s not my forever tank so I’m very satisfied with what we’ve I’ve got going

Give the gentleman a jingle. $1200 budget gets you a serious bang for buck w him. Far more than what you get through the typical channels.
will do.

Personally, I like FijiCube's EXT offerings... Their sumps are awesome, and what really tips them over the edge for me... Planet Aquariums is also great from what I hear, though I have no direct experience with them... If you were looking for something smaller, I'd have said the ReefOctopus Octo LUX T90 (48 Gallon display, 30-Gallon sump), because their stand is amazing...

You could also consider this but might be out of your budget. I have a proclear ProStar 90 and barring the shipping which damaged the sump(which they promptly upgraded due to warranty to an acrylic one) , I am happy with it so far. Just attaching a pic of mine

Lots of good ideas/deals here. Agreed - If your patient used is a way to save a lot of $$$ on the tank and equipment. But have no doubts.... if you want to stock the tank well it will cost quite a bit more $$$. But the good news on stocking is that you can spread that over time.

They prolly can, but your gonna wait for it. They consider it custom @ that point and when I was looking earlier this summer, it was a 8-12 week lead time.

In review of your posts. I think you stated that you wanted 48" long aquarium. If that is correct. That is the IM100EXT. So that is bigger and gets you away from the box dimension you mentioned.

Also. If I were you. I would most definitely go with an aluminum stand. I see that you want to go with hands on approach for your stand. You can still buy an aluminum frame separately and then make any type of covering/doors etc for it that you like if you dont like what the companies provide.

Aluminum or metal pointless on that size tank.......unless the op is a welder w squarestock on hand not very practical either.

what are some companies to look into? do you have any recommendations?
Clear Fabrications out of Seattle area. That is who I went with. Jason can make anything you want and you could go a bit wider and taller for more volume in a 4' long tank. You can see the tank and sump be built for me in my "Build Thread Contributor' link.
If you want to stay at 4', I'd go 48x24x24 or 48x30x24. The extra front to back space really helps with aquascaping.
