A local chap is selling some lights as he is tearing down his system. This is what he is selling: 2 160 kessils and 2 Red Sea 90 leds.

I have one 12g cube in my office that is currently just FOWLR. I am gaining the confidence to get into corals. Still studying. But the first ones will probably GSP on a rock island and some zoas.

My other tank is a 180 bow that is still in the planning stages so, dry. But obviously will start off as fowlr and then get some corals as well.

He said he would sell me all 4 for 300. While it is a great deal in general, I know when it comes to light, they are only as useful if they will work for what you need.

So, since I am still new I wanted a second opinion, do we think these will work for me? Again, no corals yet and my starters will probably be gsp and some zoas and maybe some mushrooms. Obviously if I want more advanced coral, I would get lighting that would go with that coral.

I can never recommend anyone to get GSP. That said how old are the lights being sold?

The kessil would be fine for softies on the nano. Once switching to the 180 you'll need to add more lights than listed.

Per seller, less than one year
