OK, so I watched the video on YouTube on how to set up the magnetic stirrer, but I don't think I did it right.

This is what I'm trying to accomplish:
  • I want my doser #11 to dose every Sunday @ 7.15am - 20ml
  • I want the magnetic stirrer to stir 1 min prior to dosing.
  • I also want the magnetic stirrer to stir 24 times a day just to keep the mixture nice and mixed.
  • Also, I'd like the skimmer to turn off on Sunday morning at 7am and turn back on at 11am.
I'm at a loss for what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Do you want the guidance in MyGHL or in GCC?

I can help you but first tomorrow evening (my time) because I´m going to bed now:p and work tomorrow.

We can hope someone else can help you before that :p

Here we go I use other pumps, switches, stirrers and swedish way of express the clock - I hope you understand

I want my doser #11 to dose every Sunday @ 7.15am - 20ml

You have to calibrate the pump at the wanted speed. I have chose speed 2 here. I use pump 16

Do not forget to save

Go to Dosing schedule- add time and volume

Add and chose day

1602425783644.png

Save

I want the magnetic stirrer to stir 1 min prior to dosing.
I also want the magnetic stirrer to stir 24 times a day just to keep the mixture nice and mixed.

Go to extra - magnetic stirrers. I chose stirrer 16.

Chose model (it is on the backside of the stirrer) Here I have chose model 1
Lead time - seconds before dosing

Also, I'd like the skimmer to turn off on Sunday morning at 7am and turn back on at 11am.

Go to timers - I have chose processes - I have chose timer 16

Go to Switch channels - I have chose 16 but you should chose the one that manage your skimmer pump. Should be like this

DO NOT FORGET TO SET SWITCHING BEHAVIOR TO INVERT

Test this before you use it. I have not tested it but it should function as you want now

Here is how my stirrer is setup. It is physically connected to Dosing pump 5, but reacts to dosing pump 1.

You assign the stirrer to a dosing pump with the "Index" field.
Lead time = how long to mix for before every dosing event on pump 1.
Stir cycles - how many times a day (you wanted 24??)
Stir duration = how long to stir for each stir cycle

Hope this helps

Hi all, this topic has helpen me to do the setup of my stirrers, although i do have one problem and i am unsure what ik did wrong. The stirrer does not stop stirring during the dosing action, is that normal? The problem is, it is now taking in air created by the stirring vortex... :/
My setting is lead time 120s, stir duration 30s, speed 1 (model 2 stirrer)
I would expect this setting would stir 2 minutes before dosing, for 30s, then stop.
Any thoughts what i did wrong?

Do you use automatically or manual dosing schedule? You have to do a workaround - IMO - because the stirrers are intended to go during the dosing event.

Hi Lasse, thanks for your reply.
I use the automatic schedule. It was not clear for me they operate during dosing.
In that case i think it would be best to manually program the dosing times and do the same for the stirring...
I am using the BM 2,5L containers, when i fill them they are 50% full, since they are a bit oversized for my application.
By now there is only a layer of about 8cm liquid left in them, and that creates a vortex, because the dosing line is in the centerof the container, it draws in air.

A manually programming is easier to solve. I think I can solve the automatic also but it is more problematic because there is no documentation how each of the processes (timers) is delayed when you use an automatic feed
But here we go (its only valid for P4/P3 - not SA doser

Create a dos pump schedule, calibrate the pump. Fill in the numbers for that speed This is your physical pump. The numbers - only examples..

1631894384553.png

1631894431457.png

1631894532031.png

Now is the dosing pump configured. It will dose 10 ml 12:00 and 18:00

Now we configure a timer

Switch mode - chose manual and flow rate 15 ml

1631894761455.png

Back to Schedule Do the schedule exactly as the pump

1631894884607.png

Now we should do a PL programming Function 1 timer 21 - Operator AND Function 2 - Dosing pump 21 (I have latest FW form my P4 - therefore 32 pumps) Note function 2 should be inverted

1631895075162.png

We knit this to a virtual Switch socket (I chose 41). Now will this socket be activated if timer 21 says so and if not dosing pump 21 is active (remember the invert function). So even if timer 21 says be on - it will not be on because Dosing pump 21 is on

1631895366843.png

Now we go to our magnetic stirrer- put it in in our doser. Note chose react to switch channel and to channel 41 (index 41). Lead time 60 sec

1631895791301.png

Now what I think will happens now (I have not tested it) is that 60 sec before switch channel 41 turns on (12:00 and 18:00) - the stirrer starts because the doser 21 is not running (remember the invert function) for the and Doser 21). In that moment doser 21 start (12:00 and 18:00) the switch channel 41 will switch off (and the stirrer stop) because of the command; Timer 21 AND invert Doser 21

The switch channel 41 is only virtual nothing connected IRL to it

I have not test this - please test it before you run it sharp

Sincerely Lasse
