Need help on oowerheads for a peninsula tank

Fellow reefers I’m asking you for your suggestions and help. I am I. The process of buying a 150 gallon peninsula tank. I choose a peninsula tank so it could be seen from my dining room and living room. I’m looking for suggestions on which powerheads or even a gyre to buy and how many? Also placement cause I don’t want any dead spots. If anyone has any equipment availiable that may help me please dm and let me know what you have and price. Looking to buy asap

For a 150g peninsula. main thing is both sides have no dead spots.
I’d personally go with either:
– 2x gyres (one on each end) for long flow across the tank
– or 3–4 powerheads (like MP40s or similar) to create random flow

Since it’s a peninsula, a really clean setup is:
– Gyre on the overflow side pushing across
– Another on the opposite end or angled to break up flow

That keeps detritus from settling in the middle/back.

personally 2 gyres and a layout like number 3 at the image works best in my opinion... gyres for a pen tank have more coverage

Appreciate the knowledge. I will look for 2 hires to simulate what you sent me. What size would you suggest? I would need big enough to push from both sides of the tank. Also would I place one slightly lower than the other or try to have them as even as I can?

remember you already have your return pump and a gyre on one side already its gonna push alot.
while the gyre at the other end will break apart that current and send the current upward and downward.
youll have more then enough flow.
what your budget and quality?

Don’t really have a budget. Probably would go used to save a few bucks. As far as quality I don’t wanna buy anything jebao Eventhough I’ve heard they’ve gotten better

Yeah their new wave makers have been better in quality and functionality.
Just just one last week and I love it.

Maxspect is good
Hygger is good too
F zone is iffy but gets it done

Just wanted to know cause there is some gyres I can send that are under 100 and I’ve seen work fine.

Please send your recommendations. I will take all into consideration. As I said previously my main concern is eliminating dead spots. People say it’s not possible in a peninsula tank. I don’t believe that to be true

Tunze Orca. The 6105. I ran a 250g peninsula for 2 years and tried almost every type of power head there is and only 2 MP60s was able to provide enough flow from one side.

The ORCA would have been amazing to have on that tank

Your light set up looks really nice. That’s my next question. What lights were you using? I plan On just running a mostly LPs tank. Torches. Hammers. Frogspawns. Bottom corals like plates. Wilson. Trachys. Lobos. Some easy sps like pocilopra. Bird nest branching cyphestrea

ive had them for 6 years running now

honestly out of the 125-150-60-20 g tanks I've had only has like 1-2 go bad... one from a BTA.
the jabeo dmp is great too but expensive
never really had issues to the point of disliking them in my experience.

i recommended cause they are personally good, efficient, doesn't break the bank, and easy to replace.

no thats not my tank LOL

i did have a 150 prostar pen that i have 3 dmps jabeo on for about 1 year and it worked perfect

yeah dmps are like the mp's pretty similar in style and both great just expensive
