Quick question:
I will connect the 1/2” Pipe Adapter Spigot X Barb to a Sch80 Reducing Bushing 1” Spigot X 1/2” Slip.

How do I connect the Reducing Bushing to a Union due to the hexagonal shape?
Only the top that sticks out should be that shape. It should be round where it slips into a fitting

Thank you. So I think I should instead use a Union before the reducing Bushing and insert the pvc pipe at the hexagonal shape part of the Reducing Bushing?
You are talking about going from 1" union to your 1/2" barb correct?

The bushing should be 1" at the round part. The hexagonal top should have 1/2" slip to slide your pipe or barb fitting into

I don’t have a picture as I’m planning to buy online from BRS but here is a picture of what I’m thinking of.

Few quick questions:

1. Will a 1” Sch40 PVC pipe or 1” Sch80 PVC pipe fit in a 1” Union or will both fit?

2. Should I paint the back wall of the tank before I drill the tank or after?

Another quick question:

Do you recommend painting the back wall of the tank first or after drilling holes?

That I'm not sure. I drilled mine then used window tint film from home depot on the back of mine

If it were me I would probably paint after making sure to tape up the holes well from the inside
