Hey R2R,

I’m hoping someone here can help me untangle this mess before I lose my mind.

I recently bought a secondhand tank setup, which came with two AI Prime 16HD Reef lights and two Nero 5s. The lights and pumps were still programmed to the previous owner’s MyAI app/tank profile. Which was great, but I tried to connect it to Wifi so I could control things as I travel for work and allow other people to service the tank while I am away.

Here’s where I’m at:
I factory reset all the lights and Neros (long button hold, unplugged, reset attempt)
  • Deleted all lighting and flow profiles
  • Added them locally to my MyAI app
  • They’re stuck in Bluetooth-only mode (local) — won’t connect to Wi-Fi
  • I tried multiple resets, MyAI firmware tool (which is now offline), and even different phones — no luck
  • Can’t import downloaded .aip light profiles into the app anymore (looks like AI killed that feature?)

On top of that, I’m fighting a green hair algae bloom after the move, likely from disturbing the rockwork and shifting parameters.

What I’m looking for:
  • How can I get my AI Primes on Wi-Fi and connected to MyAI cloud (not just local)?
  • Can someone help me get a proper light and flow schedule set up?
  • Is there any real way to import signature series schedules or do I have to manually recreate everything?
  • What’s the best way to sync my Neros with my lights for flow matching?

I appreciate any advice, hard truths, or even “been there” stories. Just trying to get this system dialed in after a frustrating start.

Thanks in advance,
Johna!

I believe the AI Prime 16HD is bluetooth only. I own one and have only ever used bluetooth with it. The Prime 16 is wi-fi compatible. I might be wrong though as I'm still pretty new to the hobby.

You can download the signature settings from the AI site and then upload to your MyAI app. You can then finetune them if you want. I was using Karen Vasquez's settings but I dialed down the white because it was washing out my tank a lot. I also killed the moonlight settings so the tank would go dark at 10 pm.

Thanks for the response! Have you tried that lately? I can’t find a way to import the .aip file and from what I see online, there’s no longer the feature to do this.

I was able to get the preset uploaded to the lights through the möbius app.

Spent a good three hours trying to reset and connect to WiFi from instructions from Grok and ChatGPT…

Thank you all for the support.
