I have attached the microscopic pictures of the bugs in my tank along with a naked eye picture. These bugs are tiny as much as less than 0.1mm.

I have go through a month’s time interceptor treatment with more than 7-8x dosage recommended for red bug. It’s 100mg for 150G tank volume and there’s one treatment that I even went up to 140mg.

These bugs seem to recede under interceptor but they come back eventually. They are seen around the base of my acroporas when lights out. The corals spits out filaments

To add to the discussion, the bugs come out at night and they are only around the base of my acros. Wherever they are , the corals sends out mesenterial filaments and STN WILL be seen. I don’t know what species they are, if they are not crustaceans, interceptor should not be effective..

It kinda looks like ostracod to me, I don’t know if it preys on weak corals or dead tissue. But it’s sure to me that the corals STN wherever these little suckers are. Anyone has any ideas on how to get rid of these? I tried dipping in ivermectin 10ml/4L. They come off the corals but still crawls around!

That’s what I thought initially and I tried 7-8x interceptor red bug dosage for each week for a month, I still have them but less in number. As I know that the interceptor only works on crustaceans, so I thought these maybe of some different species.
Maybe acro eating black bugs?

I’ve heard interceptor doesn’t work on black bugs.

Here is a good article on it nonetheless
