I have a your choice aquatics DC 10 protein skimmer. It was working great for about 10 months after break in. The day before yesterday the controller stopped working. The pause button is the only one working, while power, up, and down flash the bottom led of the number and goes back to 4(the setting I did have it on). I'll include pictures. I'm hoping someone can help this is the first problem I've had that I can't find a discussion about already. Thanks in advance!

Yes I did, though only for 5 min. Will try again right now, maybe 15 min or so?
I would thing 5 minutes would be long enough.

Next method is banging the controller with the buttons pointed down, or search it for a reset button?

Instructions for another controller, but maybe something here?

Press the minus button for three seconds, this will give you the control panel/ pumpmodel number.Press the pause button for five seconds to restore factory default settings.Pump is overheating, something may be jammed in the impeller,or the impeller needs to be cleaned.Control panel failure, the control panel will need to be replaced.Pump failure, the pump will need to be cleaned, pump intakemay be blocked. The pump is getting an unstable voltage.Pump is in run dry mode, if the pump is not getting enough waterit will automatically shut off until enough water is present. Thepump will automatically restart and clear the error code.Pump is overheating, this can because by restricted flow orexcessive head height.Sensor fault

Most likely the controller has gone bad.
Very common, especially with the cheaper line of products lately.
I've never used this skimmer but you can try unplugging the controller only itself, hold the power on button along with the up button at the same time while then plugging the controller back in.
You may need an assistant.
Sometimes that will reset.
If not, I'd contact the company and order a new controller If possible.
Or, like @KrisReef said, bang the crap out of it.

Tried everything on the list besides replacing so far. Back on for about 45 min still no difference with anything including controller. I don't believe the controller is communicating with the pump making this happen as it still does the same thing as before when unplugged from the pump/skimmer. I'm thinking I might need to replace the controller but any opinions or other possible solutions are plenty welcome. I cannot find an exact replacement online so far, I'm including a picture of the controller and pump info incase that's helpful.

Yup contacting them tomorrow though I know this model was discontinued. I'm trying to figure out if another DC controller that's similar would work.

Nothing on ebay either, at least nothing with the same design and same buttons. Called and was told they would get back to me. (Which I doubt). Nothing else I can think of to try at the moment, hopefully a solution comes soon. The last resort would be an off brand and just see what happens.
