Need help with tank overheating

have a 300 gallon saltwater tank with a 75 gallon sump. The temps fluctuate from 78 to 82 degrees. I live in a hot weather climate and temps can get up to 100 degrees. I think I need a chiller. I see 1/3 hp chillers and thinking about running it with my 75 gallon sump. Is this a good idea? What is everyone else doing for these temps?

I have another 300 gallon freshwater tank and it runs 75 to 79 degrees all year long without a chiller but for some reason my saltwater tank will run a lot hotter. I can’t figure it out. The only thing in there is a sicce syncra 12 return pump.

What about evaporative cooling? Fans on surface
 
Are they effective for a tank this size? What do you recommend for a tank this big?
My tanks inside. House HVAC keeps house at 72.

Tank needs heated here. Just suggesting alternatives . I'm sure the chillers are sized per gallon
 
But your temps aren't higher than what I've heard mentioned for acceptable
 
I live in a hot climate, everyone here have either a chiller or a heat-exchanger.

My 206g system is using the Teco Tk2000, which is overrated for the tank size and in theory should fit your tank size as well, though it might be at its limit.

For large systems, it usually advisable to use a heat exchanger if possible, which is basically the outside unit of an AC, connected to a titanium spiral that can either be internal (in sump), or external (next to your sump). The benefit of this solution is that it will handle both heating and cooling of the tank.
It usually also the cheaper, better value option.

This is an example of a standard external heat-exchanger so you’ll have an idea what it looks like:

It contains 2 loops - one connected to the external AC unit, while the other is for the water.
 
Amazon sells banks of cooling fans for aquariums . I have no experience with them myself but I do know of an LFS that gets very warm in the summer that uses them
