Sorry for the bad pics just wanted to confirm with the community experts to see if this is perhaps coralline algae? My rock was dry rock went through diatom phase and now has a lime green appearance to it it’s not filamentous algae but smooth over the rock. From what I’ve read here in the forums and online it’s a precursor to coralline. I seeded the tank, plankton, pods, started with fritz 9 now microbacter 7 and added nutrients (chaetogro) for my macros. My concern is they say the tank will get coralline in the 4-6 mos range but this tank has been running for under 2 mos. Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA!

I see what looks like ciliate spinge
Can you repost under white lighting?
Doesn’t really show up with white light but I attached 2 pics. My rock is lime green, nuisance algae?

Lighting with the pictures is always tricky with determining coralline. Coralline sometimes is best determined by not a visual inspection but by touch. "Most" algae's will come off using a turkey baster or a bit of a scrape using your finger nail. Coralline being calcified has that tougher exterior even prior to obtaining its purple color.
I also noticed it looks like your running the Hyyger DC Mini Wave Maker? How do you like it? I have a couple and so far been impressed with them after I spent sometime learning what you can do with the programming and more so the ease of maintenance. The ability for them to shut down giving you an alarm when they need cleaned is great rather than running at half the capacity and wearing themselves out like a lot of other flow generators.

It’s on the powerhead and on the outflow on my aquaclear but only glows under blue light… they’re high flow areas I scratched some of it of but it was flat in a clump didn’t break up. That hygger nano wave maker is great! I’ve got it set on nutrition wave on lowest intesity and medium frequency. It’s a great pump for nanos a little too powerful for my 6 gal but I’ve learned how to aim it.

I think you may have a good possibility yet how old is the tank and do you check and supplement any calcium? My tanks I support a pretty heavily stocked reef and watch my calcium levels routinely with dosing ESV Bionic. After 5 or 6 months I believe it was my 1st sign of Coralline started to appear on my back glass wall.
As for the Hygger Wave Makers. I actually went back and spent the extra money and purchased 2 of the large DC Wave Makers to accompany the 2 original small nano's I had purchased. I use the 4 in my 40 breeder and have plenty of flow and wave action for the various coral types running all the different program configurations throughout the day / night.

Tank is about 6 weeks old that’s why I’m wondering what it is. As far as dosing I just do a 10% WC . My calcium is a little low I’ve been raising it slowly as well as salinity but everything has been constant and trending where it should

Nice job. Can't complain with keeping your parameters there. I prefer my salinity a bit at .25-.26 but that's a mute point with your question. Id say keep doing what your doing and time of course with stable and ongoing levels like that and it will come. Calcium I do like to run at 440-450, But that's just me with my coral load and the types I have. A supplement carefully dosed and monitored cant hurt.

Thanks man ! Salinity I’ve been raising slowly by topping off a bit at a time, using Red Sea pro salt. Reefing is an awesome hobby but can be a bit overwhelming. I’ve done high tech planted for a while but saltwater is a lot trickier. I’m using the Hanna checkers now because guessing colors with api is a nightmare… no clue on the lime green algae though?
