So I had a buddy that had an acro colony he said was dead. I noticed the tips were still alive so cut them off. Didn't expect it to live. He doesn't know what it is and said it was always brown. The tips are doing so well in my tank. Encrusted all together and starting to get a little color. Any idea what type it might be?

It's hard to see the structure with all that polyp extension, and even then it's going to be a bit of a guess right now due to size.

But from the structure I can see and with the clue of that polyp extension, maybe A. horrida? Acropora horrida. Corals of the World - Photos, maps and information about corals and reefs

Way to small, but squirt it with a turkey baster and make the polyp's retract. Can see it better.
