Hello! I picked up this rainbow bubble-tip anemone for free at my work to try and nurse it back to a healthy specimen and keep it.

I suspect it came from an original healthy anemone that split, but since my other co-workers don’t really have knowledge in caring for saltwater livestock it got neglected for some time and was never fed directly.

I didn’t look great this morning, probably because of the additional stress of being in a new tank, but I placed some mysis+brine shrimps on it and it ate them completely! Some of its teeny tentacles even became fatter after a few hours.

What are your thoughts on it growing into a healthy anemone, is it too far gone or do I have a chance? If so, should I feed it everyday? Every-other day? In small amounts multiple times or just one time?

TIA!

It will probably be fine, I have had some neglected splits in my fuge and it's hard to kill them. I stuck one in a box like yours and it is doing great a few weeks later.

I successfully brought one back to health with mysis shrimp about every 4 days. It started growing tentacles back and fattened up in about a month of doing this. Looked just like yours

I'm in agreement that it'll most likely be fine. Just give it a chance to find it's own sweet spot and do your TLC thing!
