Need some help with cycle

Hey everyone i need some advise I started using the red sea mature program and decided I didnt want to continue. So I got a bottle of Dr tims aquatic ammonium
here is what my ammonia is reading. It's in the <.15 category maybe .25. As per the instructions on the ammonia bottle it reads "add 1 drop per gal (Or 1 ml per 20 gal ; cap =6 ml) of aquarium water to achieve an ammonia nitrogen level concentration of 2 "
So in a 60 gallon system i added 3 ml with no change in ammonia reading . Not sure what I'm doing wrong

Add the same proportion to some normal seawater and see if the kit reads it correctly. :)

The test kit read correctly. I doubled the dose of ammonia in the tank and re tested and i was able to achieve the 1.5 ppm reading via the test kit

Dr tim says if you add the bacteria and ammonia then wait 24 hours you may not read ammonia because the bacteria already consumed it.

I may have read your post wrong. Did you use dr tims bacteria product as well?

I did not use Dr tims bac. The only bac that was used was a bottle of red seas bac
