Need to cool my tank down

Hey everyone, been awhile.
The A.C. upstairs broke, and the tank has been warming up. It's at 84⁰ right now and some of the corals, goni and favia mainly are starting close up. Im trying to make a sort of wind tunnel with a fan from downstairs and cardboard tunnel leading to the room the tank is in. Any other ideas?

A lot of guys in the hot climates use water bottles in the freezer as emergency backup cooling. Trick is to keep enough to keep them in rotation.

Can also use large ZipLoc bags filled with ice quickly.
*make sure they're sealed and hold water as the ice melts

I was going to suggest the frozen water bottles. Also a fan that is blowing across the surface of the tank might help.

Get a box fan or any fan and point it at the top of your water. It will cool it down quick

I have no air conditioning and temperatures in my system have reached 84 degrees and I have never had any problems with the inhabitants of my system current tank temperature is 79.8 degrees and no problem. The system is 15 gallons.

You can purchase these from a dollar store and keep many of them in your freezer for an emergency.

I know I already mentioned it but I have a system in my garage that reaches 95-100 in the summer and I just use a fan to cool it down on an inkbird controller. If you have a fan it will bring it down

Open the windows and if you have any of those old fashioned electric fans put them on air movement across the top of the tank will help to reduce the temperature.

I had this issue, but where my tank is semi big(120 gallons) I ran out of ice and water bottles, so I threw everything that looked freezer burnt into gallon zip lock bags and floated those as well before throwing it away lol. Helped clean out my freezer and cool off my tank...

I ran to the store and grabbed some water bottles and 7 pounds of ice. While I wait for the water bottles to freeze I'm dropping in a bag of ice mixed with salt to lower the freezing point and bring the bag to -6⁰. This is working pretty well and ill switch to the frozen water bottles once I need to maintain the temperate instead of lowering it further. Can't open the windows right now since it's stormy, windy, hot and humid so I think that would just make everything worse. I'll see if I can find a fan to blow over the top of the tank, the one downstairs can't really be moved. Abandoned the whole wind tunnel idea, it wasn't really going anywhere lol. As mentioned by others having a portable fan blowing across the surface of your tanks water Will drop the temp a couple of degrees

Be careful not to cool off too quickly. Ice is a good idea as is a fan. Hope all works out for you. Sorry about the hassle!!

Cheapest way to go is have a stack of 2liter bottle filled with water and put in the freezer.

But in your case, go to the store get big bags of ice, there are big sealed food totes you can utilizes to get ice in the tank. Walmart has them.

And if yo have fans that can blow directly
In the tank. It will cool down the tank for sure. Just takes time. Ice un a sealed food tote is the best bet right now.

Things on working out right now, cooled it down with the salt and ice bags to 81⁰ and found a fan to blow over the tank, been sitting at a stable 80⁰ for an hour now.

Shoot dude, sounds like you got a gameplan at least. Any timelines on a fix or replacement for your AC?
