Very sad news.

[Auquanut]

That is sad news. Niel Peart was a musical genius and the very heart of one of the best bands I've ever known. This is a sad day for Rock & Roll.

[Zos4me]

One of the best drummers ever

[brandon429]

[Silverfish]

So sorry to hear the news! RIP Neil. One of the greatest ever.

[NanoDJS]

Just saw that also , RIP 2 one of the best ever.

[Bob Weigant]

Horrible to hear this. A great drummer with a great band

[Feet4Fish]

Th truly a legendary drummer. The only positive is now he can be with his daughter and wife. I am a drummer myself and he truly was one of the masters!

[tripdad]

Grew up on Rush, such a great lyricist as well as a drummer. RIP kind Neal, such a peaceful man.

[ndrwater]

Agree with all above. This is a great loss to the music world...

[Flippers4pups]

Growing up as a kid, Rush was a big influence to me. Progressive rock. Neil's back beats, out of time transitions and tempo was mind blowing. There will never be another drummer like him. Truly a gift to have seen them play live.

Their music is as present now as back then. Truly a said day. See you on the other side Neil. God's speed.

...............................................God needed some drum lessons...…………………………………..
and, now, has one of the best EVER.

Having a brother that -idolized- Neil, and having Rush on a continual loop when he was learning to play drums, I had no choice but to be exposed to this man's musical and lyrical genius. And I'm glad I was......

Ive seen them MANY times and I have many favorites, this one is easily in my top 5 from them...….

Rest easy, Neil.

[Redox]

I was raised on RUSH. That hurts my heart. I have gravitated towards a Regae sound but just yesterday I was listening to some RUSH jams....I Don't believe in destiny or the guiding hand of......

[Skynyrd Fish]

Best drummer ever. RIP.

[Jman76]

Such sad news. :( RIP to a legendary drummer who inspired sooo many musicians. Amazing to watch his style and technique. Thank you Neil!

[flsalty]

I saw them on that R30 tour. It was amazing.

RIP Neil Peart, Legend.

[Potatohead]

I've been having a tough time with this one. It has been a really crummy week for Canada.

He was the best.

[Chipp]

I saw them on that R30 tour. It was amazing.

RIP Neil Peart, Legend.

I was at that one in Philly. I remember Alex and Geddy came out and did an acoustic version of Resist after Neil's solo. When they came out they started playing a twangy country song for a minute and Geddy said "that's all the country we know".

RIP Neil.

[hubcap]

I got to see them 14 times.

Funny little story......
During their more recent tour where they performed "Moving Pictures" in its entirety, I went to take a leak during the intermission...…...
HUGE line for the mens room.
Ladies room?

NO TRAFFIC AT ALL. heheheee. I dated a gal in high school that HATED Rush. She didn't last long.
:)
