Hey everyone I'm just wondering if anyone is using a Neptune dose for an auto top off and how you have all that set up I'm trying to pull fresh water from my basement to my aquarium on my main floor

Neptunes ATO pmup could probably run the distance without issues. Using a DOS to do it would require some additional sensors and code and trigger based on the open/closed of each. I've not used the DOS this way so really can't comment other than thinking about what you would need for action.

In theory I use the DOS for auto top off, but as a measured evap top off on reverse light cycle, my system is 1100 gallons so this is super easy for me. Smaller systems will need a little more attention to detail of climate changes throughout the year.
Its simple, figure out your evap rate in 24 hours.
I would NOT do just RODI, I would make a barrel of RODI and mix Kalk in it for top off to get the PH, balanced, calcium and alk benefit.
I use an AVAST kalk stirrer for my 7 gallons per day evaporation, but I do that on the reverse light cycle ( 12 Hours ) to help with balancing pH and Alk swings.

Look into the ACI Chris Meckley method. I run his method modified.

Using a DOS is so simple for ATO

PMUP is WAY to unreliable for ATO. I've had 4 pmup's, they are all in the trash where they belong.

Yea I do that. Just over the course of a few days measure how much evaporation you’re using by measuring your sump level. Programs dos to dose that about per day. I have mine dosing a gallon a day. No need to relay upon any sensors or float valves. Maybe every 10-14 days I’ll top it off the tank with a gallon or 2 if there was more evaporation than I have input

Weird, I’m still using the one from like 2016 when it first came out. Haven’t had any issues.

It’s for an ATO so it’s not like it’s super critical if it did go out. Maybe if it got stuck on and pumped your whole reservoir. Then it could be bad, depending on the size of your reservoir. I use mine with the Neptune ATK so two optical sensors and a float valve for redundancy.

That will work but there really is no safety net. I understand the math side of it. Me personally would just like the extra safety for piece of mind.

I've not run it that distance as I mentioned but as far as display and close proximity I have had no issues. Well, that is a small fib. I did have one that faltered a bit and after a bit of digging around I found that it had a bunch of my german shepherds hair in it. I had left off the top of my ATO and she started drinking out of it. Go figure.

Anyway I know reliability can be a issue or concern for some.

Piece of mind with what? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of an apex dos going bad and staying on plus you can build in power draw monitoring so if it stays on for too long it shuts off power. I don’t see how anything else would create more piece of mind other than doing it manually unless that’s what you were referring to?
