I am to invested in Neptune apex so I might as well just wait for the trident, but it’s also good to wait and get all the bugs out of the new products then buy it.

i just saw posts of people saying they’ve waited 10 weeks for their mindstreams that were supposed to arrive in 6-8 weeks, while the company said they expected to ship even sooner and they can’t get a response from the company on eta. is this product really so phenomenal that you are going to pay them $1,000 and then wait at least three months for them to ship it?

also, the company is going to need a constant influx of people willing to drop $1,000 on hardware and $500/year on maintenance In order for them to survive. if the company goes under, you have a $1,0000 brick unless they can get someone to continue to produce their proprietary disks. ime, the number of people willing to dump this type of cash is pretty limited, as evidenced by the less than handful of people that have posted reviews thus far.

To be fair, I think the Trident distribution could fall into the poor bucket as well :)

Company longevity would be my concern as a Mindstream purchaser. It took a long time and a lot of money to get the product to market, hopefully they are successful and disc supply doesn't disappear.

I have no exp with anything but Apex Controller + Trident.

I had to break down a tank + move it to another location and I had at least 8 VERY expensive colonie sof HW, WWC pink panther, culture shock, OP, WD, etc...

As I got the tank settled, I SLOWLY added fish then slowly added the corals back . So far, only lost 1 goni and JF sunset stylo looks like it's on it's way out. Other than that, everything else looks like it did in original location.

That said, I have the Trident testing my water 6x a day as I am trying my best to keep everything stable as I continue to add corals back.

Obviously, ALK is the most important, and it appears to be very consistent, UNLESS your alk is over 11. My frag tank is 11.5 and it would measure it at 12.5.

The Cal/Mag tests can be a bit wonk but they average out enough where you can dose pretty them accurately. I also test by hand 2x a week (more for ALK) just to make sure trident is doing it's job.

Within a week I had the tank at complete stability w/ ALK... The worst it did was go from 8---> 6.7 over a weeks time. I was able to dose it slowly back to a stable 7.9 , also in a weeks time.

At this point, the controller/water tester argument will be never ending. But I love my trident.

30% was coupon code given at MACNA in person to order on their site. PM me if you want to order before Monday. 9/1

The code is not unique so it is just for the show in general

I hate calibrating. I want low maintenance with backup monitoring (especially temp, salinity, ph swings, alkalinity). Everything else is a plus. I am going to pull the trigger on the mindstream as I don't plan on doing automated dosing, but I do want to know the best daily dosing of my 2part ESV and when I need mag and K. I am concerned about the reliability and cost of repair when warranty is up. I can not justify the price of an apex with trident as it is a little too OCD for me.

I love the idea of the Mindstream, however I worry about the longevity of the company.

Neptune has been around a long time and I expect it to be around a long time to come, I could be wrong.

Just my personnel feelings.
That’s my concern also. They are a single product company

Abysmal, especially with reagents. It's like they rushed it out 6 months early, I wonder why.. ;)

Reagents in LFS should be happening in about 3 weeks from what I've been told, so hopefully the Tri users are no longer at the mercy of Neptune and FedEx treating their delicate bottles like a soccer ball during delivery.
