A year ago, my first fish was a Sapphire damsel. A few weeks ago I bought a second one. A few days ago I noticed one had dug out an area under a frag rack, the the two were dancing circles around each other. Now one is fat.

Kinda cool.

Late last night after posting, the two started to lay and fertilize. They laid on the bottom side of the egg crate. They would alternate turning upside down, laying and covering. It was pretty cool. My blues prevented any pictures or video.

The eggs are clearly visible now, and the male is now watching over.

Apparently this may be pretty common of damsels. I’ve found one video on YouTube of this particular species laying in the same manner, under some egg crate.

Here’s a short video of my male and its clutch of eggs.
