You don’t have your own RO/DI system for that monster?? You gotta get on that

Thought about it, im using ati essentials pro...with that program water changes are optional. I was experimenting with a couple of parameters which is why i was buying water....as far as top off since owning the chiller...evaporation isn't an issue and im going 2.5 weeks through 5 gallons of water. I've been using distilled water with no issue.

Are those other devices hydraulic or something to hold up the canopy face? If so, where did you get them?

Hey Family sorry for the hiatus, been dealing with high levels of tin, a new whole home generator that is delayed, also a demanding sea anemone...oh yeah and there was a storm that impacted my family in Louisiana as well...lol. Ive been busy and at moments really frustrated. Here we are.... im starting to get back into the groove of things so barring a major disaster ill do my best to keep this thread updated.

Lets get to the ugly.... i lost corals.... a lot. My Tin levels got to a peak of just over 50 UG/L.... alot of my colonies started to RTN/ STN..... after several large water changes, purit, metasorb, and cuprisorb my tin level is now 12 UG/L.

My Tank went from:

to

If you dont see that much of a difference.... its the angles, trust me. I've started adding corals as a "test" to see how well they do before i start replacing all of the ones that were lost. Fingers crossed

The good:
I have had my Mag just over 6 months. The tank is doing better and is starting to bounce back...Corals are starting to get colors and PE...

Ive build a floating stand for my Trident that works well and saves space.... im finding i can be pretty handy when i need to be.

Hope all goes well for you now. What was the source of tin?

Did you get rid of your fuge? I can’t see the lights.

It was contaminated water from the LFS. Yes still have the fuge...its in a reverse lighting schedule which is why the lights are off.

Is the LFS going to make up for your losses? That’s awful!

Family wassup!!! I hope you guys have all been well and safe. Tank is going well. The "Test" corals i have added are starting to incrust and after calibrating my PH probe, i found my PH lower than what i thought. I added more co2 scrubbing material to get me to peak around 8.35- 8.45 and holy cow my alk took a huge nose dive.... thats a good thing. Here are some pix of the progress...unfortunately im not where i want to be yet... but this is a marathon and not a sprint.

I couldn’t believe how much my alk dropped off when I started CO2 scrubbing. I’m surprised that that’s not talked about more often. I went from consistent 8.8 dKH to 7.3 in 6 days!

CO2 scrubber to get pH up is great but yes, you have to be careful and closely monitor your alk. Consumption changes so it may drop quick but could also rise quick if your media gets consumed and pH starts to drop.

How long is your media lasting you? As far as I know its similar to our medical grade co2 absorbent like you'd see at anesthesia stations. They don't last long! What kind of turnover are you experiencing in your tank? I don't have a pH monitor for my tank but I'm always wondering what its sitting at.
